In 1985 Salt Spring Island played host to an epic May Long Weekend Soccer Tournament. Get ready for another great soccer filled weekend on Salt Spring Island this May Long Weekend, Friday May 16th - Monday May 19th. The 38th annual Salt Spring Island Challenge Cup is back. With Rec, Comp, and Over 35 divisions for both men and women, and an over 50’s division for men, there’s a level for everyone to participate in and enjoy. In addition to the action packed or semi packed games there will also be beer gardens serving up refreshments from the fantastic Beacon Brewing located in Sidney so you can kick back and relax with a cold one while cheering on your favourite team. And if you’re feeling hungry, there will be a variety of food vendors to choose from, serving up delicious food to keep you fueled throughout the day. Mark your calendars for the 38th Annual Salt Spring Island Challenge Cup……there may also be a social event or two over the weekend.

Please note we will be using Fernwood Elementary School Field for this years event as all of our regular fields will not be available to us, we will try our very best to limit each team to one game out there during the weekend but that may not be possible.
